The Family Engagement Specialist plays a key role in building strong connections between families and the treatment process. As a qualified Mental Health Professional, this position initiates and maintains ongoing communication with families, gathering vital historical information about the individual served and collaborating on the current treatment plan. Acting as a dedicated point of contact, the Family Engagement Specialist ensures families are informed, supported, and actively involved, fostering trust and alignment throughout the care journey.
Family Intake and Information Sharing: Contact family members upon intake to gather historical data and share relevant information with families, ensuring appropriate releases of information are in place.
Provide Facility-Specific Information: Share important facility details with families, including visitation, programs, and policies, to ensure clear understanding and transparency.
Family Notifications: Notify families of updated clinical and legal statuses, following the individual served's preferences and maintaining open communication.
Facilitate Family Support Groups: Organize and lead Family Support Groups to provide guidance, resources, and peer support for families navigating the treatment process.
Ongoing Family Meetings and Discharge Support: Ensure regular meetings with families to discuss the individual’s progress, well-being, and treatment, and provide support during discharge and reintegration.
