How you make a difference

Lead, Guide, and Support as a Residential Treatment Assistant Lead!

 

Step into a leadership role where you can make a difference every day. As a Residential Treatment Assistant Lead, you’ll serve as a shift leader, providing direction and guidance to Residential Treatment Assistants while fostering a safe and therapeutic environment. Your responsibilities include training and assisting staff with individuals' programs, ensuring alignment with facility standards, policies, and procedures.

 

While not involved in staff scheduling or discipline, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining a supportive and collaborative work environment. As part of the treatment team, you’ll contribute to the overall plan of care, helping to create a positive and secure living space for individuals served.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight of RTAs and Responsibilities
    Perform lead worker duties by overseeing RTAs' daily responsibilities, ensuring proper log entries, and mentoring or orienting new RTAs.

  • Shift Coordination and Task Management
    Meet with leadership at the beginning of each shift to report unit status, review assignments, and ensure all tasks are completed on time.

  • Facility Rounds and Reviews
    Complete daily rounds on assigned housing units and conduct safety and sanitation reviews by the end of each shift.

  • Policy and Procedure Enforcement
    Ensure adherence to facility procedures, including constant observation precautions, contraband searches, and proper documentation.

  • Support for Individuals Served
    Assist unit managers, security, and clinical teams in providing direct services, maintaining cleanliness, and organizing property for the assigned population.



Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Required: High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or criminal justice.

Experience:

  • Preferred: Three (3) years of direct care experience in a forensic, mental or behavioral health, or hospital setting.
  • Preferred: Healthcare, mental health or human services experience.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Preferred: Healthcare, mental health or human services license / certification.
