The Librarian manages all aspects of the library within a secure setting, creating an organized and resourceful space that supports learning and growth. Responsibilities include selecting, acquiring, cataloging, classifying, circulating, and maintaining library materials to meet the diverse needs of individuals served. By fostering a welcoming environment, the Librarian ensures access to knowledge, supports intellectual enrichment, and promotes the joy of discovery.
Information Analysis: Analyze requests to identify needed information and assist in locating or furnishing relevant resources.
Reference Support: Utilize standard reference materials, including online sources, to answer reference questions effectively.
Instructional Sessions: Plan and conduct classes on topics such as information literacy to enhance knowledge and resource utilization.
Resource Evaluation: Review, evaluate, and select print, audio-visual, and electronic materials to meet the needs of the facility library.
Collection Development: Maintain and expand the library's collection to ensure a diverse and comprehensive selection of resources.
