How you make a difference

The Activity Director is the heart of an engaging and enriching environment, leading the charge in overseeing daily activities for activity therapy and related departments. You’ll guide and inspire a talented team, ensuring top-notch care and adherence to policies, protocols, and facility standards. With your leadership, the department will run smoothly, creating a positive impact for all involved. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise Assigned Employees: Manage and oversee the performance of assigned employees, ensuring that tasks are completed effectively and in alignment with company goals.

  • Hiring, Training, and Evaluating Employees: Handle the recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of employees to ensure a skilled and efficient team.

  • Coordinate Activities for Individuals Served: Organize and coordinate the daily activities of individuals served, ensuring they have access to the necessary resources and support.

  • Develop Daily and Weekly Schedules: Create and implement schedules for employees and individuals served, ensuring that all activities are planned and executed in a timely manner.

  • Ensure Compliance with Policies: Ensure adherence to company and facility policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.



Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree.

Experience:

  • Required: In California, two (2) years of experience in a social or recreational program within the past five (5) years, one (1) year of which was full-time in client activities and programs in a mental health setting.
  • Preferred: Outside of California, two (2) years' experience in a mental health setting.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Required: In California, licensed as an occupational therapist, art therapist, music therapist, dance therapist, or recreation therapist.
