How you make a difference

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant provides a full range of medical services under the supervision of clinical leadership and/or primary care physician and in accordance with established policy and procedure, as well as within the state guidelines.



Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts admission and annual medical examinations and routinely reviews/reevaluates those patients requiring ongoing medical/consultative services and coordinates treatment planning in those cases.
  • Completes all requests for medical services in a timely manner, completely and initiates alternative actions as medically necessary. Provides medical treatment and orders studies, tests, and ancillary services that are required. May conduct minor surgical procedures for which they have been granted privileges to perform at the facility.
  • Thoroughly, accurately, and timely documents all services in the individual served medical record utilizing facility approved format.
  • Attends healthcare employee meetings, continuous quality improvement meetings, infection control meetings, and other meetings as requested by leadership.
  • Makes pertinent observations and draws logical conclusions, which validate need for non-formulary medications, recorded on non-formulary form and submitted to the clinical leader for approval.



Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Required: Master’s degree as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program from an accredited University.
  • Required: Clinical rotations in primary care area as a requirement of graduation.

Experience

  • Required: Prior relevant medical practice experience.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Required: Current license in the state of practice.
  • Required: Any client-mandated certifications and/or training.
  • Required: DEA registration.

Compliance

  • Must adhere to compliance requirements from company, client agency, and accreditation bodies. May act as the Medical Director’s designee where required by licensure.
