The Dietitian leads the dietary program, ensuring individuals served receive balanced, nutritious meals tailored to their needs. From menu planning and documenting nutritional information to representing the food service department in committee meetings, this role is vital in promoting health and wellness. Collaborating with management, the Dietitian ensures all nutritional requirements are met while maintaining the highest standards of care.
Nutritional Assessments and Counseling: Assess the nutritional needs of individuals served, prepare diet cards, and provide nutritional counseling to individuals and families as needed.
Menu Design and Approval: Approve and help design cycle menus, ensuring dietary needs and cultural diversity are considered.
Record Management: Input dietary and nutritional information into tracking systems and maintain comprehensive records of individuals' nutritional histories.
Sanitation and Policy Compliance: Perform quarterly sanitation audits of serving areas and assist in updating and implementing facility policies.
Collaboration and Training: Liaise with administration, medical, and nursing staff, attend meetings and audits, and assist in dietary staff in-services.
