How you make a difference

Step into a Leadership Role as a Charge Nurse!

 

Are you an experienced practical nurse ready to elevate your impact? As a Charge Nurse, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, using your expert clinical knowledge to lead and collaborate with a dynamic multidisciplinary team. You'll work closely with leadership to plan, direct, and evaluate care for individuals served and their families, ensuring a personalized and continuous approach to healing. Your role will be crucial in delivering high-quality, therapeutic care while driving innovation and compassion in every aspect of our services.



Key Responsibilities

  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration
    Work closely with medical staff, clinical teams, nursing, and leadership to address complex issues and improve care outcomes.

  • Coordination of Admissions, Transfers, and Discharges
    Oversee patient flow with other charge nurses, ensuring workload distribution and assigning tasks based on team members' skills.

  • Support Patient Self-Determination
    Empower individuals served by involving them and their families in care decisions and preparing them for self-care post-discharge.

  • Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement
    Lead quality assurance initiatives and participate in department-wide performance improvement activities to enhance care quality.

  • Effective Communication and Infection Control
    Maintain clear, professional communication with staff, patients, and visitors while ensuring adherence to infection control protocols.



Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Required: Licensed Vocational (LVN) or Psychiatric Technician (LPT) degree from an accredited school of nursing.

Experience:

  • Required: Two (2) years of experience as an LVN/LPT in long term care, med/surg or inpatient psychiatry.
  • Preferred: Two (2) years of increasingly responsible leadership experience to include charge, lead or supervisory responsibilities.

Licenses:

  • Required: Current, unrestricted LVN or LPT license in state of employment.
