Make a Difference in Recovery as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor!

 

As a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor, you'll play a pivotal role in guiding individuals through their journey to recovery. Your work will involve evaluating, treating, and offering vital support to those overcoming substance use challenges.

 

Collaborating with a dynamic interdisciplinary team, you’ll work towards positive clinical outcomes, ensuring that each person receives the care and encouragement they need. You'll also be instrumental in preparing individuals for discharge, helping them transition smoothly while ensuring continuity of care. Key Responsibilities

  • Administers Screening and Assessment Tools
    Conducts assessments using screening tools to evaluate substance use disorders.

  • Diagnoses Substance Use Disorders
    Diagnoses substance use disorders, provided this falls within the scope of certification/licensure.

  • Provides Counseling Services
    Delivers substance use disorder group and individual counseling services.

  • Documentation and Compliance
    Maintains thorough, accurate, and timely documentation in accordance with professional standards.

  • Continuity of Care
    Plans for continuity of care to ensure proper support when individuals are released from the facility.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in human services field or High School diploma with two (2) years' experience in a related field.

Experience:

  • Preferred: Two (2) years of experience providing SUD counseling.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Required: License/certification eligible as required by state in which employed.
