The Competency Intervention Specialist’s (CIS) primary responsibility is providing competency restoration to groups. The CIS also provides individual solution-focused treatment, skills-building groups, and psychoeducational groups. This position will also maintain accountability for services provided though appropriate documentation and participation in Quality Improvement program.

• Provides competency restoration individual and group treatment.
• Provides psychoeducational and skills building groups.
• Provides cognitive rehabilitation activities.
• Documents in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Participates in Quality Improvement activities.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field from an accredited college or university

Experience

• Coursework and professional experience that indicates knowledge of mental health counseling, group and individual psychotherapy, assessment and treatment of major mental disorders, crisis intervention, and mental health consultation
