How you make a difference

The Lead Residential Treatment Assistant is responsible for supervising and providing direction to Residential Treatment Assistants during a shift. They train and assist with the implementation of residential programs and work collaboratively with the Operations Department to ensure high-quality care for residents. The Lead Residential Treatment Assistant ensures compliance with facility policies and procedures while promoting a positive work environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead worker and oversee Residential Treatment Assistants (RTAs) in a specific building with various work assignments; ensure completion of assignments and report status to management at the beginning of the shift.
  • Assist with daily responsibilities of RTAs, complete daily rounds and facility counts, conduct safety and sanitation reviews, and provide coaching and training to new RTAs.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures and policies, conduct constant observation precautions, maintain cleanliness and organization of the building and resident property, and conduct contraband searches.
  • Assist with providing direct services to assigned population, and ensure waste containers are emptied at the end of each shift according to the Environment of Care standards.
  • Work closely with clinical treatment team to ensure completion of assignments and maintain appropriate documentation.



Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Experience

  • Three (3) years of direct care experience in a forensic, correctional, mental health or hospital setting.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Certificate in a mental health or behavioral health program preferred. Required after one year of service in the position.
