How you make a difference

As a Psychology Resident, you will be responsible for conducting psychological assessments, providing individual and group psychotherapy, and participating as an active member of the treatment team. In addition to this, you may be assigned to develop, monitor, and implement behavioral management plans, as well as provide staff education on psychological issues when necessary. Your role also includes evaluating competency, malingering, and risk assessments. 



Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts psychological assessments, including competency, risk, and malingering assessments, and provides individual and group therapy to patients. 
  • Develops and monitors behavioral management plans and serves as a consultant to multidisciplinary teams, while also providing guidance and training to psychology interns and the clinical team. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of ethical and clinical principles outlined in Florida Statutes Chapter 490, and completes documentation of services provided in a timely and professional manner. 
  • Serves on committees as assigned and provides expert testimony in court, while also adhering to special precautions, disaster and fire safety procedures, and abuse reporting requirements. 
  • Conducts psycho-educational groups, competency groups, individual counseling, and competency restoration sessions, as well as provides staff education on psychological issues. 



Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology from an Accredited University with dissertation completed.

Experience

  • One (1) year of psychology internship completed.
  • Skilled in organization, supervision and evidenced-based treatment interventions.
