How you make a difference

The Assistant Facility Maintenance Manager at the Columbia Regional Care Center (CRCC) works closely with the Facility Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of facility building maintenance, construction, and grounds. This includes ensuring proper safety, sanitation, and mechanical functions for all buildings, grounds, and equipment, while also ensuring compliance with all applicable building and fire codes. In the absence of the Facility Maintenance Manager, the Assistant Facility Maintenance Manager assumes responsibility for managing and overseeing these functions. 



Key Responsibilities

  • Utilizes a participative approach to oversee maintenance department personnel and work being conducted. 
  • Manages maintenance mechanic workforce, provides oversight and direction to Maintenance Technicians, and ensures timely completion of maintenance activities. 
  • Oversees vendor-personnel to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and building codes. 
  • Directs operations and maintenance of utilities, HVAC, emergency services, and implements preventative maintenance program. 
  • Maintains compliance with national standards and requisitions and maintains inventory of building maintenance supplies. 



Qualifications & Requirements

Education  

  • High school diploma or equivalent.   
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or business preferred.   

 

Experience  

  • Five (5) years of facilities management experience or other related experience.   
  • Higher Education may be accepted in place of experience.  

 

Licenses/Certifications  

  • Must be able to pass and maintain clearance for a Public Trust Position.  
  • EPA Technical Type I, II highly preferred.
