Hampstead Hospital & Residential Treatment Facility (HHRTF) is an acute inpatient psychiatric hospital and a residential treatment program that treats children, adolescents, and young adults.  HHRTF is located in a beautiful setting in southern New Hampshire that provides plenty of outdoor areas to play, walk, and promote well-being. Children deserve to have healthy and happy childhoods so that they can grow into wholesome and happy adults. How you make a difference

The Assistant Director of Social Services at Hampstead Hospital Residential Treatment Facility (HHRTF) will support the Director of Social Services by managing the day-to-day operations of the Social Services Department, which includes hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating staff. Additionally, the position involves providing regular clinical consultation and supervision to social workers and mental health counselors, as well as direct care responsibilities with a small caseload. This includes conducting individual, group, and family counseling, psychosocial formulations, social work assessments, and level-of-care assessments as needed, while also serving as an active member on the interdisciplinary treatment team. 



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight to inpatient and residential treatment units, ensuring adherence to policies and best practices. 
  • Develop and maintain clinical resources and provide orientation to newly hired social services team members. 
  • Supervise and support team members, oversee caseloads, and schedule staff to maximize service quality and efficiency. 
  • Provide direct services to patients and families, including psychotherapy, case management, psychosocial assessments, aftercare planning, and family services. 
  • Address questions and concerns related to the department of social services. 



Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited program.

Experience

  • Prior experience in a psychiatric setting or residential treatment center preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

  • LICSW or LMHC license is required.
  • CPR Certification (within 3 months of hire)
  • CPI Certification (within 3 months of hire)
